Kurt Russell was born March 17, 1951 in Springfield, Massachusetts. A child performer, he appeared in a number of television and film roles before deciding to play professional baseball. After an injury he returned to the screen in a television film Elvis, and had his first feature role in Escape From New York. Later films include Backdraft, Stargate, Soldier, Dark Blue and Poseidon.
