John Warcup Cornforth is an Australian scientist who won the 1975 Nobel Prize for his research in stereochemistry and enzyme-based synthesis.
Born on September 7, 1917, in Sydney, Australia, John Warcup Cornforth went on to study at Oxford University in the early '40s. He married Rita Harradence, a fellow chemist who would be his collaborator, and performed groundbreaking research in chemical compositions, especially in the form of cholesterol synthesis. He received the 1975 Nobel Prize and has worked as a professor.
