John Hurt biography

John Hurt was born January 22, 1940 in Shirebrook, England. He made his film and stage debuts in 1962. He had notable roles in A Man for All Seasons, Midnight Express, and The Elephant Man; for the latter two movies he received Academy Award nominations. He also continued to act onstage. On TV he played the title character in the children's series The Storyteller.
