Born in Boston in 1948, James Taylor is one of America's most beloved singers, defining the singer-songwriter movement of the 1970s. Taylor released his widely popular album Sweet Baby James in 1970 and has since released more than 16 albums. His music chronicles the life of a middle-class baby boomer, and has hailed some of rhythm-and blues best songs, such as Otis Backwell's "Handy Man."
