Jackie Coogan biography
Actor Jackie Coogan was born on October 26, 1914, in Los Angeles, California. His big break came when Charlie Chaplin chose him to play his sidekick in the movie The Kid (1921). The most popular child star of his time, Coogan performed in hit films like Peck's Bad Boy (1921), Oliver Twist (1922) and The Rag Man (1925). California legislated the Coogan's Act after the actor failed to collect most of his money earned due to outlandish spending by his mother and stepfather. Later in life, Coogan was known for playing Uncle Fester on the 1960s TV sitcom The Addams Family. He died on March 1, 1984, in Santa Monica, California.
