Isaiah Berlin was born on June 6, 1909, in Riga, Latvia, and eventually settled in London, going on to become a lecturer among various top universities. His ideas, which focused on a pluralism of beliefs as opposed to absolute truth, were presented in essays like “The Hedgehog and the Fox” and “Two Concepts of Liberty.” Noted for his zest for music and friendship, Berlin died on November 5, 1997.
