Isaak Babel biography

Isaak Babel was born in 1894 in Odessa, Russia. He is considered one of Russia's greatest short-story writers. Several of his works are considered masterpieces of Russian literature, including Red Cavalry and Tales of Odessa. In the late 1930s, the government regarded his writings as contrary to the state. He was arrested in 1939 and executed in a Moscow prison.
