Ichiro Suzuki was born on October 22, 1973, in Kasugai, Japan, and played baseball for almost a decade in his country’s Pacific League. In 2001, he immigrated to the United States to join the Seattle Mariners, earning MVP and Gold Glove awards and becoming baseball’s lead hitter for several seasons. The multiple All-Star player joined the New York Yankees in 2012.
