Henry A. Wallace was the 33rd U.S. vice president during the Franklin D. Roosevelt administration. He was also a writer and agriculture expert.
Born on October 7, 1888, in Adair, Iowa, Henry A. Wallace went on to work in the hybrid-corn business before becoming agriculture secretary under President Franklin D. Roosevelt's first two terms. He served as vice president during Roosevelt's third term, then ran for the presidency on the Progressive Party ticket in 1948. An author and editor as well, Wallace died on November 18, 1965, in Danbury, Connecticut.
