King George IV was born George Augustus Frederick on Aug. 12, 1562, in London. George IV married his cousin Caroline in order to induce Parliament to pay his debts. They separated in 1817. In 1810, George III became permanently insane. George IV took the throne in 1820 ruled as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and Hanover until his died in 1830.
