George Herbert biography

George Herbert was born on April 3, 1593 in Wales. In 1620, he was elected orator of Cambridge University, but by 1625 he returned to the hurch and became an ordained deacn and in 160 was ordained a priest. He wrote religious poems throughout his life and on his deathbed sent them to his friend, Nicholas Ferrar. Ferrar had The Temple: Sacred Poems and Private Ejaculations published in 1633.
