George A. Olah biography

George A. Olah was born on May 22, 1927, in Budapest, Hungary. He studied and taught at the Technical University of Budapest. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 and later to the U.S. He taught at Case Western Reserve University and the University of Southern California. He won the 1994 Nobel Prize for Chemistry for work he did in the ‘60s isolating carbocations (or carbonium ions).
