Synopsis

Singer and songwriter Gene Pitney was born in Hartford, Connecticut on February 17, 1941. He began his career as a songwriter. Notable hits were “Rubber Ball” sung by Bobby Vee and “Hello Mary Lou” by Ricky Nelson. He recorded his own hits too, such as 1967’s “Something’s Gotten Hold of My Heart.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. He died on April 5, 2006.
