Frederick Loewe biography

Frederick Loewe was born on June 10, 1901, in Berlin Germany. A child prodigy, he began playing piano at age 5. He moved to the U.S. in 1924. In 1934, he began working on Broadway musicals. He met Alan Jay Learner, his musical collaborator, in 1942 and they worked together on several famous Broadway scores, including Brigadoon, My Fair Lady and Gigi. Loewe died in California in 1988.
