Frederick Delius biography

Frederick Delius was born on January 29, 1862, in Bradford, England. In 1887, composer Edvard Grieg encouraged Delius’ parents to let him study music. Delius moved to France. Claude Debussy influenced his work. He wrote the opera A Village Romeo and Juliet and the tone poem Brigg Fair. After World War I, he gradually went blind and became paralyzed due to syphilis. He died in France in 1934.
