Frank Robinson biography

Frank Robinson was born on August 31, 1935, in Beaumont, Texas. After high school, he signed with the National League’s Cincinnati Reds. He was named Rookie of the Year in 1956 and Most Valuable Player in 1961. During his career he played with the Orioles, Angels, Dodgers and Indians. In 1975, he became the first Major League African-American manager. He joined the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.
