French poet François Villon was born in 1431 in Paris, France. He was a trained scholar, but lived a life of criminal activity, involving theft and robbery. He once killed a priest during a brawl. In 1462, he was sentenced to death. The sentence was changed to banishment and he was never heard from again. His work, published posthumously, is noted for its poetic depth and rhyme.
