Fernando Valenzuela was born in Etchohuaquila, Mexico on November 1, 1960. In 1981, he jointed the Los Angeles Dodgers and pitched the opening game. That season they won the World Series and he was named Rookie of the Year. He played in the NBL for 17 years and played a few season in the Mexican League. He was a cultural icon in Mexico and in the U.S. Latino community.
