E. Annie Proulx biography

Edna Annie Proulx began by writing commissioned nonfiction books and founding a rural Vermont newspaper. Her first novel, Postcards (1992), received the PEN/Faulkner Award. In 1993, Proulx won both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for her novel The Shipping News. Her short story "Brokeback Mountain" was made into a feature film in 2005.
