David Niven biography

Born on March 1, 1909, in London, England, David Niven went to Hollywood in the mid-1930s, and his first major roles were in Dawn Patrol (1938) and Wuthering Heights (1939). Known for his sure touch with light comedy, Niven also proved to be a fine dramatic actor, winning an Oscar for his role in Separate Tables (1958). His best-known films include The Moon Is Blue, Around the World in 80 Days, The Guns of Navarone and The Pink Panther. He died in Château d'Oex, Switzerland, on July 29, 1983.
