Dan Quayle was born on February 4, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He served two terms in the US House of Representatives and was elected to the Senate in 1980. In 1988, he became vice president under George H.W. Bush. During the unsuccessful 1992 presidential campaign, Quayle focused on “traditional family values.” He sought the Republican nomination in 2000, but withdrew from the race.
