Cynthia Cooper was born on April 14, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois and was raised in the Watts section of LA. She earned a scholarship to the University of Southern California, and in 1988 won an Olympic gold medal with the U.S. national basketball team in Seoul. Cooper played with the Houston Comets in the WNBA and the team won titles in 1998, 1999, and 2000. She currently coaches.
