Synopsis

Cy Coleman was born in 1929 in New York City. He was a composer who collaborated with songwriters Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden, Bob Fosse and Neil Simon to produce songs and scores for Broadway musicals, including Wildcat, Sweet Charity, On the Twentieth Century, and Barnum. In the 1980s he wrote film scores and composed the music and lyrics for the Broadway musical Welcome to the Club.
