Conrad Black was born on August 25, 1944, in Montreal, Canada. In 1985, he started purchasing newspapers like The London Daily Telegraph and The Chicago Sun Times. In 1992, he took over Southam Inc. but later sold the chain. In 2004, Hollinger directors accused him of paying himself an authorized salary and fired him as their chairman. He was convicted of fraud and obstruction of justice in 2007.
