Carol Reed biography
Carol Reed, born in London, England, on December 30, 1906, was a stage and screen actor before turning to directing, eventually having hits like Odd Man Out (1947) and The Fallen Idol (1948). He transitioned to color films with A Kid for Two Farthings (1955), and later in life saw his classic 1968 musical Oliver! win multiple Oscars, including Best Director. Reed died on April 25, 1976.
