Arthur Crudup biography

Profile

One of the early electric guitarists, Arthur Crudup (born August 24, 1905) composed blues standards “That's All Right,” “Mean Old Frisco,” “Rock Me Mama” and “So Glad You're Mine.” Although Elvis Presley's recordings of his songs sold millions of copies, Crudup was not paid royalties. Disgusted with the recording business, he largely abandoned music from the late 1960s until his death in 1974.
