Alice Faye was born on May 5, 1915, in New York City. The daughter of a police officer, Faye got her first taste of the stage as a chorus girl, eventually moving to Broadway, film and radio. In 1934, she received her first major film break starring in Scandals. Soon after, she was cast as the youthful mother in several Shirley Temple films. She died in 1998.
