Alfred Rosenberg was born on January 12, 1893, in Reval, Estonia. He joined Adolf Hitler in the nascent Nazi Party and when Hitler was imprisoned after the Munich Beer Hall Putsch, he made Rosenberg leader of the party. Rosenberg's writings were an exposition of German racial purity and a manifesto for conquest. At the Nuremberg trials, Rosenberg was adjudged a war criminal and was hanged on October 16, 1946.
