Jazz singer Adelaide Hall was born in Brooklyn, NY on Oct. 20, 1901. In 1921 she made her professional debut as a chorus member in the benchmark Shuffle Along. She later appeared in Runnin' Wild before launching a 1926 European tour as the star of Chocolate Kiddies. After returning to the United States, Hall toured in vaudeville and appeared on Broadway. Hall continued to perform into her 90s.
