Paul Simon(1941 - )Born in Newark, New Jersey, singer, composer and lyricist Paul Simon met Art Garfunkel (1942 ? ) in the sixth grade, and the two cut their first album in 1964. Hits followed, including ?Bridge Over Troubled Waters.? They split in 1970. Simon continued solo, winning awards for albums such as Graceland (1986). Simon was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
