Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a Pakistani politician who served as the President of Pakistan from 1971- 73 and as Prime Minister from 1973 - 77. He founded the Pakistan People's Party, the largest and most influential political party in Pakistan. He was executed in 1979 after a controversial trial in which he was convicted of ordering the assassination of a political opponent five years earlier.
