American boxer Timothy Bradley was born on August 29, 1983, and grew up in Cathedral City, California. Beginning to box as a teenager, Bradley and is now a World Boxing Organization champion, having won both welterweight and light welterweight titles, as well as a World Boxing Council title. On June 9, 2012, Bradley won a bout against Manny Pacquiao, in a close decision by three judges—two of the three produced a 115-113 score,
in favor of Bradley. The fight immediately spurred wide speculation by both fans and boxing critics.
Boxer Timothy Bradley was born on August 29, 1983, in Cathedral City, California. He grew up in Coachella Valley, California, and began training as a professional boxer in his late teens. In 2004, at the age of 21, Bradley fought Francisco Martinez in his first professional fight, which he won in the second round with a knockout.
Following a loss against boxer Jose Luis Castillo in 2008, Bradley came back in 2009 to win a bout—in a unanimous decision—against World Boxing Organization champion Kendall Holt. Bradley took the WBO title from Holt, and went on to win another WBO title as well as a WBC title.
After defeating Joel Casamayor in a 140-pound division bout, in November 2011, Bradley began to publicly discuss his desire to fight Filiipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, who holds multiple titles in eight different weight divisions.
On June 9, 2012, Bradley won a 12-round bout against Pacquiao, in a decision by three judges—two of which produced scores of 115-113, with Bradley as the winner. The fight was an incredible upset for boxing fans, as Pacquiao had won 7 rounds to Bradley's fiv; the decision spurred wide media speculation, as many critics and fans argued that Pacquiao should have been named the victor. Thousands of fans worldwide watched the fight, which was broadcast on pay-per-view.
