Teresa Edwards enjoyed basketball as a young girl because she felt she it was the one game in which she had a fighting chance against the boys. In 1984, while still in college, Edwards played on the U.S. women's Olympic team, winning her first gold medal. She went on to lead the U .S. national team to gold medals in 14 of 18 major international tournaments. She last played for the Minnesota Lynx.
