Teresa Edwards is an American basketball player born on July 19, 1964, in Cairo, Georgia. The female guard played basketball at the University of Georgia where she was honored as an All-American in 1984 and 1985. At the Olympics, she won four gold medals (1984, 1988, 1996, 2000) – an Olympic record -- and a bronze medal (1992). Edwards also won the USA Basketball Player of the Year in 1987 and 1991.
