Though the late 1980s proved to be a slow period for Tucker, she resurfaced in the 1990s with the help of a renewed national interest in country. In 1991, she was named the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year. Two years later, she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame's Walkway of Stars and won Country Music Television's Female Video Artist of the Year. In 1997, Tucker released her 30th album, Complicated, as well as her autobiography, Nickel Dreams.
In 2002, Tanya Tucker left Capitol Records and released the album Tanya on her own label -- Tuckertime Records. Throughout her illustrious career, Tucker has recorded over 30 albums and scored over 29 top ten singles. The popularity of her style -- country blended with rock and roll -- made "What Do I Do With Me" (1991) and "Can't Run From Yourself" (1994) go platinum (selling over one million copies), making Tanya Tucker one of the best-selling female vocalists of all time.
