At the age of 10, Steven Spielberg took his father's 8mm camera and started filming home movies. By 1975, Spielberg became one of the most powerful directors in Hollywood when "Jaws" became an instant blockbuster.

He also helmed 2011's animated action film The Adventures of Tintin, based on the popular comic series by Hergé. It was his film version of War Horse (2011) that won him his most recent critical acclaim, however. The movie received six Academy Award nominations.

Spielberg will debut another legendary film project Lincoln. He directed Daniel Day-Lewis in the biopic of President Abraham Lincoln. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Lincoln's son Robert and Sally Fields plays his wife Mary Todd Lincoln in this much-anticipated drama. In addition to directing, Spielberg has instrumental in numerous projects as an executive producer. He has helped bring such television shows as Terra Nova, Smash and Falling Skies to the small screen.
As for future projects, the famed filmmaker is rumored to be revisiting some old favorites in the coming years. There is talk of a new Jurassic Park film and even possibly a fifth Indiana Jones movie.
Along with his three Academy Award wins, Spielberg has received many other honors during his distinguished career. He received the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1986. In 2004 Spielberg received the Directors Guild of America Lifetime Achievement Award and the French Legion of Honor in recognition of his work. He was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2005.
Married twice, Steven Spielberg has a son from his first marriage to actress Amy Irving. He has five children and two stepchildren with current wife Kate Capshaw.

Incorporated in 1910, the Boy Scouts of America was founded with the aim of instilling ethics and morals into the lives of young boys. A Scout is a "trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent," boy who, above all, strives to "be prepared" and "do his best." The highest order of these Boy Scouts are the Eagle Scouts, a rare group of young men who rise through the scouting ranks to earn 21 merit badges, serve for six months in a troop leadership position, and successfully complete a strict Eagle Scout board of review, among other requirements.
