Samuel Colt was a U.S. inventor. On a voyage to India, he designed his first revolver. His six-shooter didn't gain a following at first. He went on to invent a remotely controlled explosive and the first underwater cable. It was during the Mexican War when soldiers reported their liking for his Colt .45 and 1,000 pistols were ordered. His contribution shaped the history of American Firearms.
