Though she had several successful films to her credit since, including Doctor Dolittle, many agree that her finest work came in 1976’s The Seven Per Cent Solution.

Actress. Born Victoria Louise Samantha Marie Elizabeth Therese Eggar on March 5, 1939 in Hampstead, London, England. The daughter of a British Army brigadier, Eggar was educated at a convent and began her acting career in several Shakespearean companies. She won critical reviews and an Oscar nod for her performance as a kidnap victim in 1965?s The Collector. Though she had several successful films to her credit since, including Doctor Dolittle and The Molly Maguires, many agree that her finest work came in 1976?s The Seven Per Cent Solution.

Eggar has also appeared on American television throughout her career, including starring as Anna Leonowens in Anna and the King in 1972 and appearing as a regular on the soap opera All My Children in 2000. More recently, she was cast in the critically acclaimed drama Commander in Chief.

Eggar was married to actor and producer Tom Stern from 1964 to 1971. The couple has a son, Nicolas, and a daughter, Jenna Louise.
