Ry Cooder was born on March 15, 1947, in Los Angeles, California. In the 1970s, he released multiple records under his own name, including Paradise in Lunch. In the 1980s, he started making soundtracks. In 1992, he started recording with other musicians and soon won a Grammy for Best World album. By 2003, he had won three more Grammy's. In 2005, he released his first solo album in almost 20 years.
