Rubens was a Flemish Baroque painter who is best known for his religious and mythological compositions, place great emphasis on human sensuality. He received his art education in Antwerp, apprenticing under leading artists for some time before reproducing Renaissance classics. In adulthood, he presided over the most famous painters' studio in Europe. His works have sold for over $76 million.
