Italian operatic soprano Renata Tebaldi was best known for her exquisite and emotional quality of her singing.

Synopsis

Italian operatic soprano Renata Tebaldi made her debut at Rovigo in 1944, and was invited by Toscanini to appear at the re-opening of La Scala, Milan in 1946, where she sang until 1954. During her career she enjoyed a long association with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City. She made many recordings, most notably as Leonora in a live performance of La forza del Destino from Naples in 1958.

Operatic soprano, born in Pesaro, Italy. At age 15 she entered Parma Conservatory, made her debut at Rovigo in 1944, and was invited by Toscanini to appear at the re-opening of La Scala, Milan in 1946, where she sang until 1954. During her career she appeared at many opera houses, and enjoyed a long association with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City (1955–73). She made many recordings, most notably as Leonora in a live performance of La forza del Destino from Naples in 1958.
