Ramses III was the second Pharaoh of the Twentieth dynasty in Egypt. He is best known for defending his country against invaders in three great wars. He protected his country against advancing Libyans twice in the fifth and eleventh year of his reign and the Sea People in his seventh year. His final years were fraught with internal disturbances and an attempted coup d'état.
