Street qualified for the 2002 Olympic Games.
Although she had made an impressive return, Picabo Street finished sixteenth in the women’s downhill event at the 2002 Olympics. She retired from competitive skiing after this competition. That same year, Street's autobiography, Picabo: Nothing to Hide was released. She now lives in Portland, Oregon, and has served as the spokesperson for several companies and sports organizations.
In Recent Years
In 2012, Street competed on the NBC military combat-like competition show Stars Earn Stripes, making it all the way to the final challenge, along with Dean Cain and Eve Torres. The competition—which began with several other celebrity competitors, including Laila Ali, Nick Lachey and Todd Palin (husband of Sarah Palin)—included jumping from a helicopter, repelling from a building and clearing a helicopter landing zone. Street garnered new fame for her athletic prowess due to her performance on the show.
