Convicted murderer Pamela Ann Smart (née Wojas) was born on August 16, 1967, in Coral Gables, Florida. Smart was a pretty, popular 22-year-old media services coordinator based at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, New Hampshire, where she also volunteered to teach a self-esteem class. In May 1990, she convinced her 15-year-old student and lover, Billy Flynn, to kill her husband, Gregory Smart. Flynn and his accomplices, Patrick Randall and Vince Lattime, Jr., killed Pamela's husband execution-style in his home and made it look like a robbery.
The three young men struck a deal with prosecutors and were sentenced to prison terms in exchange for testimony that Pamela had instigated the plot. She was convicted of the crime in March 1991 and sentenced to life in prison without parole. She is serving her sentence in New York and maintains her innocence.
