Nick Cave (born September 22, 1957) teamed up with school friend Mick Harvey in the mid-1970s to form the post-punk band The Birthday Party, whose signature album was Junkyard (1982). As Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, their biggest commercial success was "Where the Wild Roses Grow," a collaboration with Kylie Minogue. Cave also wrote books, screenplays and movie scores, and acted in films.
