King Dom Miguel I was born on October 26, 1802, in Queluz, Portugal. The son of King John VI of Portugal and Queen Carlota Joaquina, Miguel I became regent of Portugal in February 1828, and ruled the nation as a self-proclaimed king from 1828 to 1834. He died on November 14, 1866, in Brombach, Germany.
