Mary II was born on April 30, 1662, in London, England. She served as queen of England, Scotland and Ireland (1689–94), and was the wife of King William III. As the daughter of King James II, Mary made it possible for her Dutch husband to become co-ruler of England after he'd overthrown James's government. She died of smallpox on December 28, 1694, at the age of 32, in London, England.
