"There's a need for clothes for cool moms," Gordon told The New York Times. The line debuted in 2008.
The following year, Sonic Youth released their 16th album, The Eternal. Gordon attracted some notice around this time for her artwork as well. In 2010,
she had a book of her paintings published under the title Performing/Guzzling. Gordon created abstract impressions of audiences on rice paper, sharing her perspective as a musician onstage with the viewer. "I've always been interested in the relationship between performer and audience," she told WWD.
Gordon continues to explore many different types of creative endeavors these days, whether it's art or music or fashion. She and her husband run the independent music label Ecstatic Peace, and she has partnered with Sportmax for a fall 2011 clothing line. Gordon lives in Northampton, Massachusetts, with her husband and daughter.
