Kevin Garnett was born May 19, 1976 in Mauldin, South Carolina. He was chosen by the Minnesota Timberwolves as the NBA draft's fifth overall selection. In his second season, he was chosen to play in the NBA All-Star Game. In 1997 he signed a contract extension that promised him $126 million over six years. After the 2006–2007 season, the Timberwolves' they traded him to the Boston Celtics.
