Born in Virginia in 1957, Katie Couric joined the Today Show in 1989. She went on to host the Olympic games and was the first woman to anchor the CBS Evening News alone. In 2011, Couric launched her syndicated talk show, Katie, on ABC.
Joan Lunden was hired as a trainee for KCRA’s news department in 1973, but quickly rose up the ranks. In 1980, she joined Good Morning America as a host, where she would remain for nearly 20 years.
