Profile
Jim Thorpe was born on May 28, 1888 in Prague, Oklahoma. In 1908, while playing football with the Carlisle Indians, he was chosen as third-team All-American. At the 1912 Olympics, he brought home gold medals for his running. In 1913, his medals were revoked on a technicality. Following the Olympics, he played professional baseball and football. Thorpe died on March 28, 1953 in Lomita, California.
